Flight 1549 Salvage Photos

One of my dear friends has a brave brother who works in rescue other emergency situations. He was at Ground Zero in lower Manhattan on 9/11 and took some of the best photos I have seen while working hard. He was more recently involve in the salvage of the wreckage left in the Hudson River when US Airways Flight 1549 landed on the river on January 15th, 2009. With his permission, I am sharing some of the photos David Daoust took during the operation.

Inauguration Address Video – The Do-Over

I, like many people in the United States, had to work yesterday during the swearing in of Barak Obama. I ended up listening instead of watching.

Inaugural Kudos to Microsoft and Novell

This is a nice effort on the part of folks at Microsoft and Novell. They managed to roll out a Silverlight/Moonlight player for Linux and PowerPC Macs. The official streaming feed of Barak Obama’s Presidential Inauguration Committee will be using Silverlight 2.

MLB.com Streaming Video Servers Repurposed for a Day

The MLB video system will be working tomorrow, January 20th, to stream a morning long program of footage from prior inaugurations beginning Tuesday morning at 9:00am EST. I love seeing expensive infrastructure put to good use.
