Mass exodus as China storm looms:
More than two million people have been evacuated from China’s financial hub, Shanghai, and neighbouring areas as powerful Typhoon Wipha looms closer.
BBC News has reported that over 2,000,000 people have been evacuated ahead of Typhoon Wipha. The latest reports say that winds could be as high as 120mph when it hits. To put this in perspective, the FEMA evacuation area for Hurricane Katrina was only 1,200,000 people. (As noted in this US Govt. PDF)
Out of curiosity, I will be watching to see how much coverage the US mainstream media covers this storm that won’t affect Americans much.
